ADCP SOLUTIONS
MGB-Tech has a range of products aimed at the calculation, visualization and distribution of water current parameters. All solutions are based on the Workhorse Sentinel ADCP. Whether you want to mount the ADCP on a buoy, seafloor, riverbed or quaywall, we have a solution in our product range to interface the ADCP and provide real-time measurements to your vessels, offices or cloud based solutions.
PRODUCTS
Depending on the location, power and use case you can select one of the options below to interface your ADCP.
TARI Controller
We have a modular highly integrated controller that gives you the power to interface up to two ADCP sensors per module. This module is part of our TARI product range intended to be installed in harsh power restricted environments. The controller can calculate average direction and velocity from the ensemble. The original ensemble is transmitted transparantly together with the calculated values.
- UHF, GPRS and IRIDIUM telemetry
- Two ADCP inputs
- Low power consumption
- 4GB logging SD-CARD
- Parameters can be calculated
- Average current direction
- Average current velocity
TARI SMART BUOYS
We have a range of buoy hardware products that allow the interfacing of ADCP sensors on the buoy or on the seafloor. Both setups are designed for real-time telemetry purposes.
BUOY MOUNTED ADCP (downwards aimed)
- ADCP is connected directly to the TARI controller
- TARI ADCP module interfaces with ADCP sensor
KEY BUOY FEATURES
- UHF, GPRS and IRIDIUM telemetry
- Low power consumption
- 4GB logging SD-CARD
- Parameters can be calculated
- Average current direction
- Average current velocity
TARI SEAFLOOR
We have a range of buoy hardware products that allow the interfacing of ADCP sensors on the seafloor.
SEAFLOOR MOUNTED ADCP (upwards aimed)
- ADCP is connected to the TARI SCF1 seafloor controller
- Works on two TARI SFB1 battery packs (+- 3 months operation depending measurement interval)
- All measurements are stored on the SFC1 internal SD-card
- Real-time data telemetry to the surface buoy through inductive modem technology
- The buoy in equiped with a TARI BUOY module
KEY BUOY FEATURES
- UHF, GPRS and IRIDIUM telemetry
- Low power consumption
- 4GB logging SD-CARD
- Parameters can be calculated
- Average current direction

TENDO ADCP INTERFACE AND VISUALISATION
Tendo is our software solution that handles the data visualization part of our ecosystem. Aside from the real-time data, it handles predictions to combine in your graphs and other visualisations. You can perform automatic Quality Control on your measurements and send mails when you an alarm is triggered. Tendo can handle a virtually unlimited number of ADCP sensors.
There are multiple ways how the ADCP measurements can reach Tendo:
- You can directly interface an unlimited amount of ADCP units directly to the Tendo computer or via an serial to ethernet converter (e.g. MOXA solution).
- The ADCP data can be received in real-time over one of the telemetry paths
- The ADCP data can be received over UHF
- The ADCP data can be received via our TREX DataExchange platform
Key Tendo ADCP features
- Interface a virtual limitless number of ADCP sensors
- Calculates direction and velocity per bin
- Extracts Pitch / Roll / Heading of the ADCP
- Extracts Water temperature
Key Tendo features
- Merges the different telemetry paths
- Has TREX dataexchange integrated
- Multi monitor visualizations
- Processes and stores the data
- Runs an integrated webfront
You can run Tendo in the cloud, or on premise.
We have prepared two Tendo station offerings to cover your on premise/on ship needs
TELEMETRY FEATURES
TRANSPARANT ENSEMBLE
The ADCP works with ensembles to relay his measurements. The strength of our ecosystem is that we not only transparantly bring the ensembles to the user, if need be, we can interpret the ensembles transmit these results over multiple telemetry paths. This for example makes it possible to send average velocity and direction information real-time over the UHF radio to nearby vessels or the office.
MULTI TELEMETRY
Our wave measurement solutions have multiple telemetry options that can be used simultaneously to provide redundancy in your telemetry. Our Tendo based products can handle the reception of data from multiple telemetry paths and merge them gracefully. This is done in such a way that the end-user has the data he needs when he needs it in a transparent manner. This ecosystem feature reduces the risk of relying on a single telemetry path.
TIME SLOTTED UHF
A private UHF channel has many advantages and deserves a spot in your telemetry solution. You dont have to rely on an ISP or other service providers to keep your systems running. UHF radio’s have a few draw backs that our ecosystem tackles with implementing TIME SLOTTED UHF. First off all, the UHF channel is in most situations a random access system. When two devices try to send something at the same time, they interfere each other and no data gets trought at all. In many implementations this data is just lost permanently. Another drawback of the UHF system is its limited throughput. The products of our ecosystem give you the option to declare time slots and asign these time slots to devices. Thanks to this feature only one device is transmitting at a time and optimal usage of the available bandwith is achieved.
